EDGE Services have started a YouTube channel to post a selection of clips of our expert trainers demonstrating safer people handling techniques.

There are eight demonstrations in total, these are as follows:

• Hoisting a client on to a bed
• Applying an all-purpose sling
• Sideways step moves – minimal and maximum assistance
• Controlling the descent of a falling client
• Chair to chair transfer
• Chair to chair transfer using a transfer board
• Assisting a client to stand
• Use of an inflatable cushion

All of the clips form part of our new ‘People Handling Skills’ DVD (3rd edition) which has been designed as an ‘aide memoire’ for trainers who hold a current ‘People Handling and Risk Assessment Key Trainer’s Certificate’ with us. They provide a great opportunity to preview the DVD before purchase or simply to refresh your memory on these particular moves.
