The Care Quality Commision Has Landed

The new independent regulator for the health and social care industry in England 'The Care Quality Commission' (CQC) has officially arrived. As from 1 April 2009 'The Healthcare Commission', 'The Mental Health Act Commission' and the 'Commission for Social Care Inspection' no longer exist - these have all been replaced by the CQC. 2007/2008 Statistics from the HSE

The most recent statistics from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) indicate that an estimated 5.1 million days were lost due to work related ill-health or injury within the health and social work industry in 2007/08.
