Fiona McKinley

Position: Trainer

Fiona joined EDGE in 2003 following a career in the NHS, and has a background in post-operative nursing care as well as care of the elderly in the private health sector. Fiona currently delivers both our moving and handling and managing challenging behaviour training. A diligent trainer, Fiona’s knowledge, approachability and clear teaching methods mean that she is always popular with delegates.

Favourite aspect of being an EDGE trainer.... Being able to share her knowledge and experience with the different delegates she comes into contact with, all of whom hail from diverse working environments. As a trainer Fiona always enjoys learning about their experiences and being able to help them with any issues that arise from their discussions.

Top Training Tip... If bringing a profiling bed into the sitting position firstly place a small slide sheet behind the client’s head and shoulders. This will enable a smooth moving action for the client reducing discomfort and pressure in the chest area and is particularly pertinent for client’s who are unable to move themselves to ease their own possible discomfort.
